COAS requests that the world put an end to Israeli injustices

During a meeting with Ambassador Ahmad Jawad Rabei of Palestine, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, emphasized the urgent need for the global community to intervene and bring an immediate end to the ongoing human tragedy resulting from the disproportionate and unlawful use of force by Israeli forces in Palestine.

The COAS stressed the critical importance of mobilizing the international community to halt the unfolding humanitarian crisis, which has arisen due to the Israeli Defense Forces’ disproportionate and unlawful actions. He further called upon the world to refrain from encouraging and endorsing continued atrocities that flagrantly violate the principles of civility and humane conduct.

General Munir reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous state of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He underscored that Pakistan believes the recent escalation of violence in Gaza is a direct consequence of unrelenting repression, ongoing human rights violations, and state-sponsored disrespect of the Al-Aqsa mosque.

The COAS cautioned against conflating the current conflict with terrorism, emphasizing that such a perspective would be overly simplistic and fail to address the root causes of the ongoing crisis, which are rooted in decades of brutal oppression. He expressed his condolences for the Palestinian lives lost in the conflict and condemned the continuous attacks on civilian populations, schools, universities, aid workers, hospitals, and the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. These actions, he noted, are clear violations of international humanitarian law and constitute crimes against humanity.

General Munir reemphasized the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the creation of a humanitarian corridor to Gaza, the protection of civilians, and strict adherence to international humanitarian law in order to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
