COPAIR seeks public-private partnership to meet climate action agenda

Dubai (VOM) :  Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR), in collaboration with United Arab Emirates media, recently organized a preliminary session in Dubai to prepare for COP 28. UAE envoy for collaborative efforts to fight climate challenges at global level.

President of COPAIR, Ms. Amna Munawwar Awan attended a seminar on Climate Change Advocacy, joined by climate experts, civil society representatives, and media members.

Amna Munnawwar Awan said that we need a multipronged strategy to address the complex challenges by joining our heads and hearts to find viable solutions making private sector as part of the solutions for a meaningful climate action.

President COPAIR emphasized that upcoming COP-28 is a crucial moment in the global fight against climate change and we must use this opportunity to create an enabling environment to achieve  the goals set in the Paris Agreement in 2015. 

The event, hosted in Dubai’s Business Bay area, provided a platform to discuss and plan COP 28 participation, highlighting the anticipation and commitment of COPAIR’s UAE team to engage in this pivotal global climate conference

Ceremony centered on COP-28 and climate action through public-private partnerships

The participantsof the United Arab Emirates, emphasized the critical importance of this upcoming climate conference. They stressed the need for collaborative efforts between governments and businesses to achieve the goals outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement.

UAE media commended Pakistan for its climate commitments and highlighted UAE’s substantial investments in renewable energy and sustainable agriculture through public-private partnerships.
They said that the upcoming COP-28 is an excellent opportunity to reset our course, accelerate global commitment and efforts to refocus global stock take for finding solutions to the common climate challenges. “We firmly believe that this global challenge requires collaborative efforts of the governments and private sector at global level. 

President COPAIR and other stakeholders also emphasized the importance of climate finance and multi-pronged strategies to address climate challenges.
