General Elections Set for February 8th Next Year Following Presidential Meeting

In a significant development, the date for the upcoming general elections in the country has been officially announced. The decision was reached during a meeting between President Dr. Arif Alvi and a delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja in Islamabad on Thursday.

The meeting, which took place at Aiwan-e-Sadr and was convened in response to an order from the Supreme Court of Pakistan, included Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, and four members of the Election Commission. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and finalize the date for the forthcoming general elections in the country.

During the meeting, President Dr. Arif Alvi was briefed on the progress made by the Election Commission of Pakistan in the process of delimitation and preparations for the elections.

After a comprehensive discussion, the meeting concluded with a unanimous decision to schedule the general elections for February 8th of the following year. This announcement marks a crucial milestone in the democratic process of the country, as citizens prepare to exercise their right to vote and select their representatives in the upcoming elections.
