RAWALPINDI : The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has completed the upgrade of the Joint Check Post (JCP) near Koral Chowk on Old Airport Road in anticipation of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Islamabad.
In a statement from the RDA spokesperson, Director General RDA, Ms. Kinza Murtaza, officially inaugurated the upgraded Joint Check Post following its renovation. The inauguration was attended by Additional Director General Awais Manzoor Tarar, Chief Engineer Muhammad Anwar Baran, and other senior RDA officials.
Under the directive of the DG RDA, the Engineering Directorate undertook comprehensive rehabilitation works. These included the resurfacing of roads, repainting of the existing structure, aesthetic improvements with acrylic sheet cladding, repair of lighting fixtures, replacement of Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP) on screening and checking booths, and the installation of new road furniture following asphaltic resurfacing.
Ms. Murtaza commended the Engineering Directorate for their swift and high-quality execution of the project, which has enhanced both the functionality and appearance of the Joint Check Post.
The Joint Check Post equipped with modern scanning equipment, security camera’s and other control room facilities will not only ensure smooth flow of the traffic but will also facilitate law enforcement personnel deployed at the Joint Check Post.
