
The Islamabad Chapter of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) has announced its intention to observe ‘Palestine Solidarity Day’ on Friday, October 13th. Additionally, they plan to host a ‘Palestine Solidarity Conference’ on October 17th to express unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, the Chairman of PUC, stated that he had a telephone conversation with the Chief Justice of Palestine, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, to discuss the current situation in Palestine. Ashrafi emphasized that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of recent events, for which Israel bears responsibility. He highlighted the ongoing desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces and the injustices faced by Palestinians.
Ashrafi called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem, a demand that is supported by Pakistan and the wider Islamic world. Chief Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash expressed the Palestinian people’s expectation of support from Pakistan and the Muslim world in their struggle against Israeli atrocities. He reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to protect their land and lives.
