Due to the growing excitement among cricket fans, ticket prices for the highly anticipated match between archrivals Pakistan and India have significantly increased as the T20 World Cup approaches.
The big competition is scheduled to begin on June 1 and will pit Rohit Sharma’s team against Babar Azam’s team on June 9 in New York, USA.
But as many members of the Indian and Pakistani diaspora who live in the US and Canada try to get tickets for the highly anticipated game, the cost of a ticket has gone up from $1,300 to $2,500, according to Daily Jang.
When playing Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, India has won six times in seven tries, including the championship game in 2007 and the most recent one in Melbourne in 2022.
From June 1 to June 29, three US locations and six West Indies locations will host the T20 World Cup.
At Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium, the US will play their neighbors, Canada, to start the tournament.
It is important to note that the top two teams from each of the four groups of five that comprise the 20 qualifying teams will advance to the Super 8 phase.
At that point, the qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four once more. The top two teams go to the semi-final, where the champions will compete on June 29.
After defeating Pakistan in the championship match in 2022, England is the current champions.
