Japan has demanded that humanitarian supplies be continued in the war-torn region and that there be an immediate truce in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, Japan’s Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa stated that her country remains committed to finding a settlement in the Middle East, even in the face of the US vetoing Palestine’s application for full UN membership.
In the meantime, Mauro Vieira, the Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Naledi Pandor, the Minister of International Relations for South Africa, stressed the importance of recognizing the State of Palestine and ending Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
They asserted that without an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, there can be no peace.
