Karachi : The statement is being released in response to the TV reports alleging that the Director General PCAA reinstated an employee with a fake graduation degree. It is important to clarify that this issue dates back to a routine policy decision made in 2022. The reports circulating are inaccurate and misrepresent the actual situation. Azhar Farooq (Sr. Asst. Dir.), the employee in question, joined CAA as a Facilitation Assistant in the 1990s. The minimum educational requirement for this position was at the intermediate level, not at the graduation level, and he was hired based on meeting this requirement. Subsequently, after a few years of service, he submitted a graduation degree which was later discovered to be counterfeit. It is crucial to note that a graduation degree was not a prerequisite for his employment, and he did not gain any financial or career advantages by submitting the falsified document. In accordance with organizational policies, the employee faced a penalty of having his promotion withheld for a year. In situations where fake credentials are used to meet the educational requirement mandatory for an employment, the policy mandates a major penalty such as termination or dismissal from service.
