(The News): Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has urged Tesla CEO Elon Musk to consider establishing a Tesla factory in Turkey
According to a statement from Turkey’s communications department on Monday, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has urged Tesla CEO Elon Musk to think about building a Tesla factory in Turkey.
According to reports, Musk noted that many Turkish suppliers already work with Tesla, and Turkey is a strong candidate to host the company’s second production. Tesla has not yet officially responded to this request as of yet.
During a meeting at Turkish House, a skyscraper close to the United Nations in New York, Erdogan and Musk had a conversation.
At the moment, President Erdogan is in America for the 78th meeting of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, Erdogan also expressed Turkey’s willingness to cooperate in the fields of artificial intelligence and Starlink, the satellite internet project by Musk’s SpaceX, according to the communications directorate.
Musk indicated that SpaceX is interested in collaborating with Turkish authorities to obtain the necessary license for offering Starlink satellite services in Turkey.
