Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Approves Bail for Parvez Elahi in Case of Judicial Complex Vandalism

(INP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has granted bail to former Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi in the Judicial Complex vandalism case. The ATC Judge, Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain, presided over the case against Elahi, who is also the President of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The judge noted that nothing incriminating was found during Elahi’s remand, and he was not even named in the FIR. The ATC court approved the former CM Punjab’s bail and ordered his release upon the submission of a surety bond worth Rs20,000. On September 8, Elahi had been sent to jail for a 14-day judicial remand. He was later re-arrested from the Islamabad Police Line after being released based on an order from the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which suspended the 3rd Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) order against him.
