Caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Assures Commitment to Gilgit-Baltistan’s Progress and Prosperity

ISLAMABAD – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to the development and well-being of Gilgit-Baltistan, as the region marked the 76th anniversary of its liberation from Dogra rule. In a message issued on this historic occasion, PM Kakar emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring progress, peace, and prosperity for Gilgit-Baltistan

Highlighting the importance of empowering the youth in the region, Kakar stressed that mainstreaming the young population of Gilgit-Baltistan was a top priority for Pakistan. He recognized the vast potential of the region, with its rich mineral and natural resources, to become a hub of economic growth and tourism.

The caretaker Prime Minister underscored the significance of unity, religious harmony, and mutual affinity among the people of Gilgit-Baltistan to secure a prosperous and promising future not only for the region but for the entire country. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan on this memorable day.

Kakar reminisced about the brave history of Gilgit-Baltistan, where under the leadership of Captain Mirza Hassan Khan and Subedar Major Babar, the local people resisted Dogra rule. Their courageous stand compelled the puppet governor Ghasara Singh to surrender, leading to Gilgit-Baltistan’s accession to Pakistan on November 1, 1947.

He expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering patriotism and selfless love of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan towards Pakistan. These courageous individuals demonstrated their commitment to being an integral part of Pakistan, which Kakar affirmed would endure indefinitely.

Caretaker PM Kakar also drew attention to the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where the Muslim population continues to suffer under Indian authorities. He highlighted that despite several United Nations resolutions, the Jammu and Kashmir issue remains unresolved, primarily due to India’s reluctance and the international community’s indifference.

Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK and pledged to continue its political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiris until they obtain their right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Furthermore, he stressed Pakistan’s commitment to a peaceful resolution for both the Palestine conflict and the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He strongly condemned the ongoing violence in the land of the first Qibla for Muslims by Israel, demonstrating Pakistan’s unwavering support for justice and peace in the region.
