Islamabad : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed commitment to providing athletes with all necessary facilities and resources for international competitiveness.
During a meeting with football player Muhammad Riaz, who hails from Hangu, he said the youth are the country’s precious asset. He said the youth should actively participate in sports and other healthy activities.
The Prime Minister said outstanding sportsmen should be provided jobs in government institutions according to their abilities.
Shehbaz Sharif directed to accelerate efforts to promote sports in the country. He emphasized that a strategy should be formulated for the well-being of athletes representing Pakistan internationally and for providing them with sustainable employment opportunities.
The Prime Minister encouraged Muhammad Riaz to continue his game and play an active role in promoting football in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif directed that Muhammad Riaz be given a job at his preferred federal institution.
He presented a cheque of 2.5 million rupees to Muhammad Riaz.
Muhammad Riaz expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the measures taken for the welfare of athletes and the promotion of sports.
