The Pakistani rupee experienced a mild decline against the US dollar in the inter-bank market, depreciating by 21 paisa (0.07%) to settle at Rs280.09, compared to its last day value of Rs279.88, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). In the local market, the rupee remained stable against the US dollar, trading in the range of Rs282 for selling and Rs279. Despite the recent depreciation, the Pakistani rupee has appreciated by over Rs 35 in the interbank and over Rs 55 in the open market over the past 50 days. On September 5, the rupee recorded its lowest value against the US dollar at Rs307.2 in the interbank and over Rs330 in the open market. However, due to government actions, the local currency appreciated in both the interbank and open markets, with a minor depreciation in the last four days.
