The Crackdown Against Illegal Housing Schemes Will Continue: DG RDA Kinza Murtaza
RAWALPINDI: Following directives from the Divisional Intelligence Committee, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Task Force is ramping up its operations against illegal housing schemes. The RDA Enforcement Squad has executed a significant operation targeting four illegal housing schemes: Ham Watan Enclave, Land Sub-Division (Haji Murtaza), Zam Zam Villas and Misriot Villas at Mouza Misriot, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi.
The operation led to the sealing and demolition of site offices, road infrastructures, manholes and containers of these illegal housing schemes, according to an RDA spokesperson.
The crackdown was supervised by the Director General (DG) RDA, Kinza Murtaza, who emphasized the continuation of such operations to combat fraudulent practices and protect citizens from exploitation. The DG RDA said that under the guidance of the Commissioner Rawalpindi, we are committed to maintaining a vigorous approach in eliminating illegal housing societies. She emphasized that public complaints regarding illegal land occupation by housing scheme owners are being taken seriously, and strict actions will be taken against those involved in forceful land grabs.
The RDA consistently issues press releases to inform the public and advises citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes. The public is encouraged to visit the RDA website (www.rda.gop.pk) and only engage with approved housing schemes.
Despite previous warnings to cease illegal advertisements, bookings, and development activities, the owners of the mentioned housing schemes continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
The joint operation team included officials from the RDA and Police Station Dhamiyal, Chakri Road Rawalpindi. Key team members were Assistant Director Planning RDA Ali Raza, along with RDA Scheme/Building Inspectors and other team members.
