Pakistan praises Columbia’s commitment to peace.

UN : At the UN Security Council, Pakistan has praised Columbia’s commitment to peace and social reforms.

Delivering a statement during the UNSC briefing on Columbia, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram called upon all armed groups to sincerely engage with the government to establish ceasefire at an early date, eschew all forms of violence, and recommit to the process of dialogue without preconditions.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Munir Akram called on Foreign Minister of Rwanda Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe in New York to discuss matters of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, counterterrorism efforts in Africa, and the situation in the Great Lakes region.

The discussions also included deliberations on the future of UN peacekeeping operations and African Union-led Peace Support Operations, underscoring the need for effective collaboration in maintaining regional and global peace.
