
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Minister for Food, Livestock, and Environment, Asif Rafiq, has lauded the government’s policies for effectively controlling the dollar rate and reducing petroleum product prices. These statements came during a meeting held in the Food Department, where Secretary Food Zarif Almani and District Food Controllers from the province were also present.
Minister Asif Rafiq emphasized that the government is working to ensure that the positive effects of these achievements benefit a broader population. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing high-quality food items while maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for hoarding and price manipulation.
He urged the District Food Controllers to enhance their performance and requested relevant authorities to address the obstacles and challenges they encounter. Minister Asif Rafiq also stressed the need to expedite the reward and penalty process to enhance service delivery to the public. The primary objective of their efforts is to offer high-quality food items at affordable prices.
Regarding the District Price Review Committee, the provincial minister directed the adoption of people-friendly and consistent procedures throughout the province. He pointed out that many pricing review meetings are frequently delayed, leading to a direct impact on the public. These directives aim to streamline and enhance the pricing review process for the benefit of the people.
