Philippines : A three-member delegation from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), led by DG CAA, Mr. Nadir Shafi Dar, attended the 59th DGCA Conference themed “Shaping the Future of Aviation: Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive”. The conference, hosted by the Philippines DGCA, took place in Cebu from 14-18 October 2024.
During the conference, the Pakistani delegation engaged in multiple side meetings aimed at enhancing cooperation with regulatory authorities across the Asia Pacific region. These discussions focused on opportunities for training and capacity-building for CAA employees through partnerships with well-established states.
The delegation also presented three Discussion Papers on Aviation Safety and Air Navigation, which were well-received and gained strong support from member States.
In addition, the delegation held productive meetings with representatives from UK CAAi, DGCA Singapore, Transport Canada, UAE GCAA, DGCA France, IFALPA, the Flight Safety Foundation, and DGCA officials from Sri Lanka and Nepal.
DG Pakistan CAA, Mr. Nadir Shafi Dar, also had the honor of moderating key agenda items, including:
1. Schedule of future DGCA conferences
2. Enhancing communication and engagement in the ICAO State Letter Process
3. Expansion of the ICAO Council
4. Schedule of meetings/seminars/workshops for 2025
5. Theme proposal for the 60th DGCA Conference
6. Endorsement of action items from the current conference
