Islamabad : Daachi is an annual festival, held in Lahore every year. What initially started as a platform for the promotion of homebased artisans wares from across Pakistan now has become a platform for the rich begummat of Lahore. This year it is being held in Islamabad and despite multiple warning about the political situation and closures they still went ahead.
Now the artisans who have paid astronomical amounts for tables and stalls are waiting for footfall but due to the capital being cordoned off they are in a dire situation. Many are still stranded enroute to Islamabad. The callousness of the management has be exposed as they feed of publicity by saying they promote artisans.
