World Mental Health Day

Today, on October 10, 2023, we observe World Mental Health Day, with this year’s theme emphasizing that ‘Mental health is a universal human right.’ This day provides an opportunity for individuals and communities to enhance their understanding, raise awareness, and take actions to support and safeguard the mental health of all, recognizing it as a fundamental human right.

President Dr. Arif Alvi, in his message for World Mental Health Day, calls for increased awareness regarding mental health and the well-being of individuals. He highlights that most mental illnesses can be effectively treated when diagnosed and managed early. To achieve this, he emphasizes the need for an integrated approach, which includes leveraging online mental health platforms, virtual programs, artificial intelligence, mental health chatbots, helplines, mobilizing relevant government and non-government entities, and fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors.
