Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, emphasized the importance of boosting cooperation with Russia in various fields, including media, drama, films, joint productions, and training programs. He made these remarks during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Danila Ganich.
During the meeting, discussions centered on cooperation between Pakistan and Russia in diverse fields, particularly in the realm of media. The modalities for the visit of the Russian information minister to Pakistan were also discussed, and a formal invitation is expected to be extended.
The possibility of signing agreements between news agencies such as APP and TAAS News Agency, as well as between broadcasters like PTV and Russian Television, and radio broadcasters like Russian Radio and Radio Pakistan, were considered during the meeting.
Both Solangi and the Russian Ambassador expressed their commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries in various areas, including security, the economy, education, culture, and tourism. Pakistan values its relations with Russia and aims to expand cooperation, especially in the fields of media, drama, and films.
Additionally, they discussed organizing a ceremony in Islamabad to commemorate the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Russia. The minister noted that both countries enjoyed longstanding ties, and there was a keen desire among the business community and people of Pakistan to strengthen bilateral relations.
The Russian Ambassador highlighted that Russia and Pakistan were cooperating in various aspects of life, including the media sector, and expressed Russia’s interest in expanding cooperation into other areas beyond media. He also noted the popularity of Pakistani television dramas in Russia.
