RDA Urges Housing Societies to Engage Homeowners in Dengue Prevention

RAWALPINDI : The owners and sponsors of approved housing schemes under the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Additional Director General Awais Manzoor Tarar issued directives aimed at curbing the spread of dengue in the city. The meeting took place in the RDA conference room, according to an official statement from the RDA spokesperson.

The Additional DG instructed housing societies to nominate representatives and form teams under a focal person to implement effective dengue control and eradication measures. These focal persons will coordinate closely with the Assistant Director of Planning, RDA, and provide regular reports, including pictorial evidence, on their efforts to control dengue.

In a stern warning, the Additional DG emphasized that if dengue larvae are found within any housing society, a First Information Report (FIR) will be lodged against the owners or sponsors of the scheme. He further highlighted the need not only for immediate dengue control measures but also for preventive and long-term strategies to safeguard public health.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Samiullah Niazi, Assistant Director General Waqar Ahmad, Assistant Director Planning Mehwish Saleem, Assistant Director Building Control Muhammad Daud, Assistant Director Architecture Syeda Rida Sultan, and various owners and sponsors of approved housing schemes.
