Bacha Khan International Airport Conducts Emergency Evacuation and Domestic Firefighting Drill

Karachi :  An Emergency Evacuation and Domestic Firefighting Exercise was carried out in the offices and management block, as well as levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Terminal Building. The drill was initiated by the activation of the Fire Alarm. In response to the alarm, designated Fire Wardens directed occupants to the designated Assembly Area. Concurrently, Domestic Fire Tenders (DFT) and a Striker from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Fire Station, along with one fire vehicle from Rescue 1122, an ambulance from PAA, and another ambulance from Rescue 1122, were deployed to the terminal building of BKIAP. The evacuation of all levels was successfully completed within the targeted timeframe of three minutes. A thorough search and rescue operation was conducted across all areas by the teams from PAA and Rescue 1122, rescuing two individuals during the process. The exercise concluded with a headcount and a debriefing of the evacuees in the Assembly Area. The Dy. Airport Manager (APM), Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial and Risk Officer, Senior Manager of PIA, along with officials from PAA, PIA, ASF, and various airlines took part in the drill.
