General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), made a visit to Bannu today, where nine valiant soldiers had tragically lost their lives the day before in a suicide bombing incident near a military convoy in the Jani Khel area.

During his visit, the COAS received briefings on the ongoing operations and about overall security situation. He also paid a visit to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Bannu to inquire about the well-being of the injured soldiers. While at the hospital, he praised the unwavering determination and high morale of the troops.

COAS emphasized

“Pakistan Army will continue to act as a bulwark against terrorism to safeguard the nation from this scourge ” (COAS)

During his interaction with the officers and troops stationed in the area, the COAS underscored

“The Army, Law Enforcement Agencies and the Nation can never be coerced by the cowardly tactics of the Terrorists, who have a misbelief that they can challenge the iron resolve of the soldiers and writ of the State.”(COAS)

COAS further stated that

“We have fought for long and will continue to fight the menace of Terrorism till the end. The Nation pays rich tribute to those who have laid their lives and their sacrifices will forever be honoured.”(COAS)
