In an exciting table tennis showdown, Arham bin Farrukh emerged victorious in the boys’ singles category at the inaugural Commissioner Karachi Cup table tennis tournament. Organized under the auspices of the Divisional Sports Committee, the event showcased top-notch talent. Arham bin Farrukh secured the title by defeating Ahsan Raza with a score of 3-1.
The final match was a closely contested battle, with the final scores being 11-08, 15-17, 11-03, and 11-09 in favor of Arham bin Farrukh. In the girls’ singles category, Fatima Danish clinched the title by defeating Bushra Anwar with a score of 3-1. The final scores for the girls’ match were 11-07, 12-14, 11-05, and 11-05.
The tournament’s final was graced by the presence of Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saleem Rajput, who served as the chief guest. Other dignitaries, including Deputy Commissioner South Captain (retd) Altaf Hussain Sario, ADC Muhammad Hussain, and Commissioner Karachi Sports Coordinator Ghulam Muhammad Khan, were also in attendance.
Muhammad Usman Khan from BVS School received the honor of being named the best player of the tournament, while media coordinator Ejaz Qureshi was presented with a special award. Special cash prizes were awarded to Sohail Tanveer and Haq Nawaz.
Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saleem Rajput expressed his commitment to promoting sports and encouraging athletes in Karachi. He emphasized the importance of nurturing talent in both education and sports, with the hope that Karachi’s athletes would excel at the national level.
Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saleem Rajput also announced the upcoming Commissioner Karachi Sports Festival, which will follow the Asian Games and the World Cricket Cup. He pledged to continue organizing regular sports activities in Karachi to support and foster local talent.
In recognition of his efforts, Deputy Commissioner South Altaf Hussain presented the Quaid-e-Azam commemorative shield to Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Saleem Rajput.
