Chinese Premier Li Qiang is set to participate in the closing ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, as announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin. Premier Li will host a welcome banquet and engage in a series of bilateral activities for foreign leaders attending the closing ceremony.
The 19th Asian Games, considered one of the most prestigious sporting events globally, has been taking place in Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
With over 260 athletes from Pakistan competing in this year’s games, sports like hockey, cricket, and Kabaddi have historically been some of the most successful medal events for Pakistan. The significant Pakistani presence highlights the country’s dedication to sports excellence on the Asian stage.
This edition of the 19th Asian Games stands as the largest ever, featuring approximately 12,500 athletes representing 45 countries and regions. These athletes are participating in 40 sports, 61 disciplines, and 481 events, making it a truly grand celebration of sportsmanship and competition on the Asian continent.
