Islamabad : UNODC successfully concluded a modernized ‘Training of Trainers’ session designed to introduce an instructor development course to prepare future trainers in the police force. This represents a paradigm shift from an educational model to skill-based training. This initiative is funded by the U.S. Embassy’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) under the Pakistan Police Modernization Project. Throughout the two-week training, the 14 participants from Islamabad and Punjab Police were introduced to the latest instructional techniques, making extensive use of multimedia tools, incorporating scenario-based learning, developing facilitation skills for trainers and, creating comprehensive training plans including goals and objectives to ensure clear and effective instructional delivery.
Participants provided positive feedback, noting a significant learning curve throughout the experience. This innovative program represents a major advancement in modernizing police training in Pakistan, aligning with international standards.
