Islamabad : Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland has commended the resilience demonstrated by Pakistani nation in the wake of 2022 floods.
Patricia Scotland said Pakistan has a diverse landscape and rich cultural history and heritage but is vulnerable to climate change. She said climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, emphasizing it transcends borders and affects every nation. She said our young people are the most directly exposed to its impacts.
The Commonwealth Secretary General emphasized the need for employing technological advancements including Artificial Intelligence to deal with the challenges including that of climate change.
Coordinator to Prime Minister on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam has emphasized the need for collaboration amongst the global youth to effectively deal with the challenges of climate change.
She said we need to work together for disaster risk management. She said Pakistani nation has always demonstrated the resilience to deal with the challenges
Chairman of Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said under Green Youth Movement, the youth are being engaged for environment protection. He said we will train two hundred thousand youth in disaster risk management.
