Islamabad : The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully concluded its sponsorship of five additional eye camps in Pakistan. This marks the third phase of a crucial project aimed at combating blindness and eye diseases. In partnership with the Al-Basar International Foundation and Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital Karachi, these camps provided advanced eye care to individuals facing financial challenges or lacking access to specialized treatment.
Strategically located in both rural and urban areas of Sindh and Baluchistan provinces, these camps targeted regions with limited eye care services. The primary objective was the early detection and treatment of eye-related issues to prevent blindness and improve the quality of life for thousands of people.
Throughout the program, more than 21,614 medical examinations and 2,038 surgeries were successfully performed. Additionally, 4,683 pairs of corrective glasses were distributed, along with prescribed medications, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.
The impact of this initiative has been significant, benefiting communities across Sindh and Baluchistan provinces. Camps held in Karachi, Shikarpur, Matli in Sindh, and District Khuzdar in Baluchistan provided specialized eye care services, restoring vision and offering hope for a brighter future.
Four more eye camps are planned for September in Kharan, Mardan, Jehlum, and Talagang to facilitate even more patients in other provinces as part of the third phase.
