RDA issued 560 legal notices, challans against 218 schemes and FIRs lodged against 221 schemes: DG RDA
RAWALPINDI : According to RDA spokesperson, Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority Kanza Murtaza has directed the public to check status of the relevant housing scheme and the property before buying any plot in Rawalpindi.
This information can be obtained from RDA website www.rda.gop.pk and Planning Wing RDA keeping in mind the rules and regulations. The public should verify the total cost of the plot including the cost of the land, development costs and others so that there is no hidden money and also that it includes land for schools, colleges, parks, hospitals and cemeteries.
He said 71 schemes have been approved in Rawalpindi, 74 schemes are in operation while 359 schemes are illegal.
Apart from this, the status of housing schemes is updated on the website of RDA, and press releases and newspaper advertisements are published for the awareness of the public so to avoid loss of valuable capital of the public.
The DG RDA said that RDA regularly monitors approved and ongoing schemes along with taking legal action against illegal schemes. RDA issued challans against 560 legal notices and 218 schemes and sent them to the magistrate’s court. While FIRs have also been filed against 221 schemes. Apart from this, RDA has taken strict legal action against several schemes and sealed the offices of 184 schemes and demolished the ongoing illegal development works, offices, front gates etc. in 200 schemes.
Further requests are also made to FIA Cyber Crime Wing that illegal advertisement/booking of plots on social/print media should be stopped. She added that the Government of Punjab has set rules for the approval of housing schemes, firstly in Rules 2005 followed by Housing Scheme Rules 2010, while currently Punjab Development Authority Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021 are enforced.
“For approval of any housing scheme, the complete file is submitted to the sponsor at the Business Facilitation Center (BFC) of RDA. In which land papers, list of records, fresh NEC, Soil Investigation Report, Water Availability Report, copy of shajra (complete record of land), NOC from Irrigation Department of Site is not Prone to Flood etc. The said case is processed only after confirmation of land from Revenue Department and NOC from WASA Department. If required, NOC is also sought from CAA, MoD, NHA” she said.
