ISLAMABAD : Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that steps are on for digitalization in the country.
She said Ministry of IT and Telecommunication is working for fulfilling Digital Pakistan Vision, as economy, governance and society are being digitalised.
She was addressing the launching ceremony of “Country Digital Ecosystem Diagnostic Report”. The event was organised by Sustainable Development Policy Institute in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Shaza Fatima said that Digital transformation is vital for the development of country. Digital Pakistan Policy is paving way for taking Digital transformation to the next level.
She said digital inclusion is our priority, adding that government is committed for ending the digital divide between rural and urban areas of the country. She said that it is through digital tecnologies that country can progress. Initiatives are being taken for digital innovation and infrastructure development in the country, she said.
Shaza Fatima said that IT sector has very important role in the economic uplift of the country. Under the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, robust steps are being taken for boosting Information and Communications Technology (ICT). She said Pakistan’s IT exports surges to 3.223 billion dollars. IT industry is being extended full support through Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).
She said the Country Digital Ecosystem Diagnostic Report serves as important milestone inthe ongoing efforts to assess and enhance Pakistan’s digital landscape.
