FJWU launched student societies to promote leadership roles

Rawalpindi : Fatima Jinnah Women University conducted the closing ceremony of Student Support Services Activities, under the banner of Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA). FJWU organized various activities including Career Fest and Alumni Connection, Micro counseling training, Microenterprise Seminar, System strengthening mentoring on effective Utilization of various Financial Aid opportunities and an entrepreneurial pop up market. Additionally, FJWU launched student societies for active student participation and to promote leadership roles. These activities were made possible through the technical support of USAID’s Student Support Services Component C. Dr. Kenneth Holland, Chief of Party of HESSA, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Asma Mohsin, Program Manager, also joined the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Bushra Yasmin, FJWU-Team Lead of Student Support Services Component HESSA, welcomed the audience and briefed them about the activities and initiatives taken by FJWU. She also shared the findings of FJWU Students’ Belonging Survey. Dr. Kenneth Holland appreciated the contribution of FJWU towards student support services and mentioned that FJWU is one of the five women universities performing at its best. Prof. Dr. Uzaira Rafique, Vice Chancellor, highlighted the significance of HESSA project in lifting the student community at FJWU up and appreciated the efforts to organize integrated activities for students. At the end, certificates were awarded to the focal persons of societies and FJWU HESSA focal persons of Component C. The event concluded with souvenir presentation to the guests and a group photo.
