In a significant development aimed at advancing education and catering to the needs of the overseas Pakistani community, the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), an attached department of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, has announced plans to establish a new Academic Block at the OPF Higher Secondary Girls School in Rawalpindi.
The construction of the new Academic Block is a testament to the government’s dedication to meeting the educational requirements of both the overseas community and the local populace. Currently, the OPF Girls Higher Secondary School in Rawalpindi caters to 710 students, including 279 children of Overseas Pakistanis. With the addition of the new Academic Block, the school will be able to accommodate approximately 300 more students.
The proposed construction work will cover an area of 21,057 square feet and is estimated to cost Rs. 99.93 million. The new academic block will feature modern facilities, including classrooms, daycare services, a conference room, an art studio, a medical room, and a cafeteria, providing students with a conducive learning environment.
Highlighting the alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision for education and development, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development reiterated its commitment to extending maximum facilities and assistance to Pakistani expatriates, both domestically and globally. Recognizing the invaluable contributions of overseas Pakistanis to the national economy, the ministry affirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating them comprehensively.
The official expressed optimism regarding the pivotal role that overseas Pakistanis can play in national development, leveraging their knowledge, expertise, and global exposure for the betterment of the country.
Commending the management of OPF for the successful launch of the new academic block at the OPF Girls Higher Secondary School in Rawalpindi, the official underscored the significance of such initiatives in fostering educational growth and providing enhanced opportunities for students.
