The literacy drive “Ilm Tolo Da Para” by the Pakistan Army is still going strong in the North Waziristan tehsils of Spinwam and Shewa.
The campaign’s goal is to provide education to the children who are not in school.
During the initial stage, more than two thousand kids were identified through the administration of an educational survey.
In the second stage, the Pakistan Army, backed by local authorities and civil administration, initiated a broad awareness campaign.
To maximize the effectiveness of the awareness campaign, a Pashto-language documentary film was also produced.
Locally, the documentary increased awareness of education.
The third stage of the campaign involves the entrance of children who are not in school.
