WhatsApp is reportedly in the process of enhancing its widely-used messaging app by introducing inbox filters, aiming to assist users in managing their chats more effectively and organizing them according to their preferences.
The app, owned by Meta, has faced criticism for its complexity over the years, particularly in terms of isolating and tracking conversations. However, this is set to change with the forthcoming update, as reported by TechLoy.
This update will allow users to navigate messages more efficiently, enabling them to organize and locate their most important conversations with ease. Additionally, it will facilitate the separation of “Unread” and “Groups” chats, simplifying access to conversations.
The update will introduce three filter buttons to the top of the app’s standard list of conversations. Alongside the default “All” option, which displays all messages, users will have the options of “Unread” and “Groups.”
According to Meta, the free update is expected to roll out to all users in the upcoming weeks. Furthermore, this update could potentially contribute to WhatsApp’s efforts to expand its user base, currently standing at 2 billion worldwide.
