Redressal committee should be formed immediately for addressing public grievances: DG RDA

Task Force on cards for operations against illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi: DG RDA

RAWALPINDI : A meeting regarding illegal housing schemes was held under the chairmanship of the Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority, Kanza Murtaza.
According to the RDA spokesperson, the DG RDA has directed the planning wing RDA to continue the grand operation to stop hoodwinking of illegal housing schemes committing looting and forgery by misleading the citizens. He said that complaints of illegal occupation of owners of illegal housing schemes are also received from the general public and strict action will be taken against those who take possession by force of arms.
The DG RDA Kinza Murtaza said that a task force will be established very soon regarding the operation against illegal housing schemes. He said that RDA has been issuing press releases from time to time for the information of general public to not to invest in illegal housing schemes and visit RDA website www.rda.gop.pk and it is requested that only buy and sell from approved housing schemes.
He said the DG RDA has directed the planning wing RDA to immediately stop all kinds of development works, advertisements, events and sale of plots from owners of illegal housing schemes. He said that in case of non-compliance, legal action will be taken against them under Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021.
The DG RDA further directed that a redressal committee should be formed for the addressing the concerns of the public, whereas immediate action should be taken on the grievances of the masses. He also directed that billboards should be put up at various places through which the RDA could confirm the approved and illegal housing schemes to the general public. The Director MP&TE RDA, Deputy Director Planning RDA and other officers participated in the meeting.
