Pakistan suggests UN public-private partnership for sustainable investment, Munir

New York : Pakistan says unavailability of sufficient resources including public and private investment as well as the absence of a pipeline of viable and bankable projects are major impediments in the way of building sustainable infrastructure connectivity in the developing countries.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram, made these remarks while speaking in the UN General Assembly during an informal dialogue on ‘Building global resilience and promoting sustainable development through infrastructure connectivity.

The envoy said that Pakistan has long emphasized the necessity of mobilizing concessional finance to mitigate risks, enhance credit quality, and improve financing terms, thereby incentivizing private sector involvement in infrastructure projects in order to bridge the funding gap.
