She added,\u201dWe will definitely achieve the goal of improving special education centers and systems.\u201d She highlighted,\u201dThe establishment of Pakistan&#8217;s first government autism school in Lahore will reduce financial burden on parents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madam Chief Minister said,\u201dThe aim of rehabilitation of special children is to make them useful and productive citizens of the society.\u201d She added,\u201dFree treatment of children with autism will be provided in Pakistan&#8217;s first government autism school, whose construction is in the final stages of completion.\u201d She noted,\u201dThe autism school project will be completed in a record time period of one year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,\u201d10 autism units have been established in various special educational institutions of Punjab.\u201d She added,\u201dProvision of special educational facilities, required for children with autism, has begun.\u201d She assigned SACM Sania Ashiq to monitor the construction of autism school project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madam Chief Minister was briefed by the authorities concerned,\u201d9,206 assistive devices have been provided to the special students. These devices include 7,702 hearing aids, 360 wheelchairs, 300 walkers, 344 crutches and 500 white canes.\u201d They also apprised Madam Chief Minister,\u201d35 schools have been upgraded from middle to secondary level, and primary schools have been upgraded to middle level to improve the special education system in Punjab.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was updated,\u201dA project has been launched to upgrade 28 special education schools to Centers of Excellence in the province. Special curriculum for special education children up to class 5 has also been prepared, which includes special curriculum of Quran translation for the hearing impaired children.\u201d They briefed further,\u201dSpecific skills courses for special students in Punjab are being prepared. Job fair for special students is also being planned in collaboration with the private institutions. 900 students have been registered, and 25 of them have got jobs so far.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Madam Chief Minister said,\u201d14 special students have succeeded in the first batch of Special Education Vocational Matriculation.\u201d She added,\u201dSchool Information System is being developed to raise the standard of special education in the province.\u201d She underscored,\u201dCitizen Relationship Management, Special Education Mobile App and Smart Monitoring App for Special Education are being prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif noted,\u201d586 students from special education centres have been admitted to regular schools.\u201d She added,\u201dWe are introducing the first-ever grand sports gala for special education students.\u201d She flagged,\u201dThe construction of 8 new special school buildings has been completed, and approval has been given for the construction of 9 more buildings.\u201d She highlighted,\u201dScreening tool has been introduced for the slow learners in special education centers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lahore : \u201cSpecial children are our special heroes,\u201d said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif while taking stock of different special projects for the welfare of special children.
