This action was carried out following the directives of the Director General (DG) of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, an RDA spokesperson reported.<br>The operation, executed by the RDA Enforcement Squad, included key personnel such as Director Land RDA, Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Building Inspector Muhammad Bilal, Building Surveyor Malik Aamir Mahmood, and other RDA officials, with the support of Police from Old Airport Police Station, Rawalpindi. The operation\u2019s goal was to restore order, enhance road accessibility, and ensure a safer environment for both pedestrians and commuters.<br>The team conducted a thorough clearance operation targeting unauthorized structures, vendors, and street installations that had been obstructing traffic and posing a serious threat to public safety. With support from local law enforcement, the RDA\u2019s initiative received positive feedback from the public, who have long voiced concerns about the growing encroachments in the area.<br>\u201cThis operation is part of our ongoing initiative to revitalize the city\u2019s infrastructure and ensure that all roads remain clear and safe for the public,\u201d said Ms. Kinza Murtaza, DG of RDA. \u201cEncroachments not only contribute to traffic congestion but also pose significant risks to the safety of our citizens. The RDA remains dedicated to maintaining the integrity of Rawalpindi\u2019s urban spaces.\u201d<br>The targeted action focused on illegal constructions along High Court Road, including unauthorized shops and street vendors, which had caused traffic bottlenecks and compromised the area\u2019s overall accessibility. Local authorities emphasized that the removal of these encroachments would significantly improve traffic flow and contribute to a cleaner, more organized urban environment.<br>Looking ahead, the RDA plans to expand its efforts to other major roads across Rawalpindi as part of a comprehensive urban planning strategy aimed at optimizing the city\u2019s infrastructure.
