Advancing Gender Equality in Legislation day one of two-day Int\u2019l workshop<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Islamabad : Chairperson Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP), Zainab Gimba\u00a0special guest of the workshop, that the parliamentarians are gathered here to discuss & review the international standards and legal frameworks towards the promotion of Gender-Sensitive Legislation across the Globe.
She said that the existing gaps and hindrances will be identified in a roundtable discussion.
Furthermore, she underscored the need to collectively review and evaluate the best regional and international practices for incorporating Gender-Sensitive Legislation into the existing legislative frameworks and learn from each other\u2019s experiences and legislative drafting skills.
She further stressed adopting each other\u2019s Gender-Sensitive legislation while lauding the provincial and federal assemblies and women parliamentarians of Pakistan for their immense contributions towards Gender-Sensitive legislation and promoting gender equality in Pakistan. Pakistan’s cuisine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also emphasized the need to enhance the capacity of women parliamentarians worldwide through such workshops and equip them with legislative drafting skills to ensure that the laws being drafted are indiscriminate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Workshop on Gender-Sensitive Legislative Drafting” commenced at Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS), under the auspices of the Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) of the National Assembly of Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcome Remarks were delivered by Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, Executive Director (PIPS) and Secretary WPC Dr. Shahida Rehmani extended a warm welcome to the honourable delegates from Maldives & Sri Lanka, participants from the federal & provincial parliaments of Pakistan and the Chief Guest Ms. Zainab Gimba, Chairperson of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secretary WPC\/MNA Dr. Shahida Rehmani also outlined the significant accomplishments of the Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) and the women parliamentarians including spearheading critical pro-women legislation, including the Protection Against Harassment at the Workplace Act and anti-acid throwing laws, setting a benchmark for gender-sensitive legal frameworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
