He was warmly welcomed by DG (R) along with the team of Director, PRI. Worthy Minister was briefed about the operations of PRI during the presentation. The Honor visited different sections of PRI and appreciated the work being done at PRI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani directed the RPRI to resume its programme of providing egg-laying hens to farmers at subsidised rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/FB_IMG_1719046977347.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14578\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/FB_IMG_1719046977347.jpg 720w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/FB_IMG_1719046977347-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He said \u201cWe are committed to supporting our farmers and promoting the poultry industry in the province. Resuming this programme will help reduce the cost of production for farmers and increase egg production, making eggs more affordable for consumers.\u201d The minister emphasised the need to increase the growth of egg-laying hens to meet the demand of eggs in the province. He directed the RPRI to take steps to increase the growth of egg-laying hens, including improving breeding and nutrition programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agriculture and Livestock Minister Ashiq Hussain Karmani said that last year 91 thousand sets of chickens were distributed among the farmers by the institute and the number should be increased this year. He said that 450,000 eggs were produced in the Poultry Research Institute last year and 240,000 chicks were born out of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/FB_IMG_1719046973357.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14579\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/FB_IMG_1719046973357.jpg 720w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/FB_IMG_1719046973357-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, the minister planted a sapling at the premises of the institute.
