Lahore : \u201cWe as Pakistanis will have to wake up our conscience, work hard, fix our intentions and fear God,\u201d said Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif while approving a program to rid Punjab of substandard and spurious medicines. She added,\u201dTo fix the system, rewards and punishments will have to be added at every level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madam Chief Minister directed the authorities concerned to install biometrics in hospitals to ensure attendance of doctors, medical staff and nurses. She said,\u201dThere is no justification for the hospital administration to sit in offices.\u201d She directed for strict implementation of monitoring measures by using modern technology and geo-tagging of drug stores and medicine-selling shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,\u201dCleanliness should be ensured in hospitals, negligence will not be tolerated.\u201d She added,\u201dIn all health departments, there should be no compromise on quality of medicine, sanitation, availability of doctors, medical staff and treatment facilities in the Emergency.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madam Chief Minister said,\u201dPresence of doctors and medical staff in every treatment center of the government sector shouls be ensured.\u201d She added,\u201dwe are deciding to impose fines, imprisonment and closure of business for those selling fake, substandard and spurious medicines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,\u201dAttendance of doctors, medical staff and nurses in hospitals should be ensured.\u201d She added,\u201dIf a medicine turns out to be fake, the officer concerned of the health department and if a treatment is not correct, the administration of the hospital concerned will be held responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madam Chief Minister also approved a program to upgrade mother and child health, and emergency facilities in every government treatment center of Punjab on an emergency basis. She said,\u201dSupply of all emergency treatment medicines, and life saving equipment should be made a top priority.\u201d She added,\u201dEnsure availability of 24-hour laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound and wheelchairs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said,\u201dThe officers, doctors and staff of the health department should change the health system in Punjab with hard work and good intentions.\u201d She added,\u201dServe the Pakistani countrymen as a conscientious person who is noble and God-fearing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
