{"id":11884,"date":"2024-05-07T06:28:01","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T06:28:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/?p=11884"},"modified":"2024-05-07T06:28:02","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T06:28:02","slug":"sustainable-development-not-possible-without-peace-ahsan-iqbal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/?p=11884","title":{"rendered":"Sustainable Development not Possible without Peace: Ahsan Iqbal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"701\" src=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG-20240507-WA0008-1024x701.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11885\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG-20240507-WA0008-1024x701.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG-20240507-WA0008-300x205.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG-20240507-WA0008-768x525.jpg 768w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG-20240507-WA0008-1536x1051.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG-20240507-WA0008-2048x1401.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NAROWAL: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said that it is the duty of every individual, especially the youth to fight against miscreants who spread intolerance and misinformation in the society, emphasizing that sustainable development was not possible without peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He expressed his views while speaking as chief guest during Peace, Education and Development Conference organized by University of Narowal in Narowal Sports Gymnasium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister said that the biggest challenge faced by Pakistan was propaganda stemmed in misinformation fracturing the very<br>basic ethics and value set of Pakistan&#8217;s society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahsan Iqbal said that without peace there would be no sustainable progress and development, adding that the foundation basis of Islam was \u2018peace and peace\u2019 only.<br>The Federal Minister said that in the past, unfortunately national politics had become a victim of intolerance and bigotry and even some have used religion to victimize their opponents but salute to the people who rejected such elements with the power of their vote.<br>He said the purpose of today\u2019s conference was that we had to make this country a citadel<br>of peace as progress and prosperity depend on peace.<br>Ahsan Iqbal said that today youngsters should dive deep into the reason behind Pakistan\u2019s<br>creation, it was struggle for peace which then was not possible as Muslims felt vulnerable as a minority \u2013 Thus, today, it was the duty of every Pakistani to protect it\u2019s minorities and<br>their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated, \u201cIf we want Pakistan to enter top economies then we need to embrace \u201cMera Pakistan Movement\u201d for each Pakistani working in different sectors, his or her circle of influence is their Pakistan\u201d.<br>Citing the attack on him in the past, the Federal Minister said that today\u2019s event on 6th May mark the sad day when a \u2018vulnerable young individual\u2019 fell victim to hate and bigotry propagated by intolerant elements of the society.
