{"id":10667,"date":"2024-04-23T11:46:27","date_gmt":"2024-04-23T11:46:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/?p=10667"},"modified":"2024-04-23T11:46:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-23T11:46:28","slug":"govts-resolve-to-address-issue-of-missing-persons-azam-nazeer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/?p=10667","title":{"rendered":"Govt&#8217;s resolve to address issue of missing persons, Azam Nazeer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1562487401713861621-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10669\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1562487401713861621-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1562487401713861621-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1562487401713861621-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/theasiantelegraph.global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/1562487401713861621.jpg 1152w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Islamabad : Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has said the government is serious to address the issue of missing persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing the joint news conference along with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, he said a committee is being reconstituted on the directions of the Prime Minister on this matter, which will have parliamentary presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Law Minister, however, said that the issue of missing persons, spanning over four decades and having several dimensions, cannot be resolved overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized the need for its political solution with consensus, apart from the legal one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Azam Nazeer Tarar pointed out that Pakistan has paid a heavy price in the war on terrorism and our security forces and people have rendered unprecedented sacrifices in this war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his remarks on the occasion, the Information Minister expressed the government&#8217;s intent to address this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has resolved 7900 cases out of over ten thousand cases of missing persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turning to political landscape of the country, the Information Minister said the results of recently held by-elections have validated public confidence in the PML-N policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the results also showed that people are aligned with PML-N and its leadership to steer the country towards development and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attaullah Tarar said people have rejected the narratives of PTI, based on conspiracy, hatred, anarchy and politics of vandalism, through their votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the previous government of PTI had pushed the country towards international isolation. However, the incumbent government of PML-N brought its back on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attaullah Tarar said the reports of international financial institutions and rating agencies have also endorsed the policies of the present government aimed at bringing economic stability in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said our current account has been surplus, foreign direct investment has increased while IT exports have also witnessed upward trajectory due to prudent economic policies of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad : Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar has said the government is serious to address the issue of missing persons.
